FESTEVE is the annual inter collegiate competition of W.C.C. Established in the year 1973 (and later known as FESTEVE), it is a much anticipated event among the women's colleges in Chennai. Events include Western Dance, Indian Dance, Fusion Dance, Fashion Show, Western and Indian Music, Quiz, Pot Pourri, Ad-Zap, Creative Writing, Elocution, Debate and the like. One of the special attractions is the MISS FESTEVE title which is hotly contested for. Apart from the formal events, informal events and fun games take place every day of Festeve. The overall winners are presented with a rolling shield.
Clubs in W.C.C :
Western Music Club : The Western Music Club caters to the musical interest of the student body. It is one of the most popular clubs in the college. Its style of music is purely acoustic. The club represents the college for various cultural meets and never fails to bring laurels to the college.
Indian Music Club : The Indian Music Club takes part in both classical and light music competitions in inter-collegiate culturals. The club also organises Anthakshri, Light music - solo and group - and Classical Music events during Festeve.
Western Dance Club : The Western Dance Club hosts and organises western dances. The styles keep varying depending on the individual co-ordinators. Power dancing is the style usually followed.
Indian Dance Club : The Indian Dance Club organises and takes part in events like Classical dance and Folk dance.
Club Of Design : The club caters to the students who are inclined towards design. The club handles events like Fashion Shows, Dress designing and Hair styling.The club also represents the college in various inter-collegiate culturals.
Dramatics Club : The Dramatics Club involves itself in cultural activities like Adzap, Pot Pourri, Whose Line Is It Anyway apart from putting up skits and one-act plays. Members of the club are active in the cultural scenario of Chennai and have won laurels for the college in most of the events.
Arts Club : The Arts Club draws from the creative abilities of individuals in the college. The club provides opportunities for exposure to the art world through inter-collegiate and University events.
Literary and Debating Club : For all students who love to dream and imagine the impossible and convince others about the plausibility of their dreams, the Literary and Debating Club is their haven. The various activities handled by the club include Debate, Elocution, JAM, Block and Tackle, Shipwreck, Extempores and Creative Writing.
Current Affairs Club : The Current Affairs club is associated with the History Department . This club is very useful to students who take up competitive exams. Besides a current affairs board, there is a library in which current news and interesting articles are put up.
Quiz Club : Quest for Universal Intelligence Zenith - so goes the expansion for QUIZ, and WCC's Quiz club has lived up to this right from its inception. Apart from participating in the various quizzes held during the inter-collegiate culturals, the club also participates in quizzes conducted by the Lion's club, the Rotaract club, IOB(Indian Overseas Bank), Landmark and National Level quizzes.
Mount Holyoke Culturals :
Named after our sister college in the United States, Mount Holyoke is the inter year cultural competition of W.C.C. Pitching the I, II, III & Postgraduate students against one another .
Mt . Holyoke is immensely popular with students and teachers. Events include Western, Indian and Fusion dance, Western and Indian music, Fashion show, Pot pourri, English and Tamil debate, English and Tamil creative writing, Photography, Painting and the like.
