The Department of Languages has been in existence since the inception of the College. The Department now comprises two languages – Hindi, an Indian language and one Foreign language – French. Department of Languages

The Department of Languages came into existence with the commencement of the Self- Financed stream of the college in the year 1998 and diverged from the Tamil Department on 1st October, 2014. Hindi and French are the two languages offered by the Department under Part I to all I year UG degree programmes and II B.A. & B.Sc degree programmes (Corporate Economics, Visual Communication & Psychology) students. It is also offered as Non-Major Electives to UG Degree programmes, and Skill Based courses to PG Degree programmes.

The Department of Tamil (Shift-II) was started in 1998. The Tamil Department offers Tamil to all the first year UG students and second year B.A (Corporate Economics) and B.Sc (Visual Communication & Psychology) students under Part I. Under Part IV, NME courses are offered by the Department. From the year 2017 onwards Skill Based Courses (Tamil Soft Skill – Basic, Tamil Soft Skill – Advanced, Tourism in Tamil, Tourism and Tamil Culture, Folklore- I, Folklore- II) are offered for postgraduate students. The Tamil Department has two full time staff and four guest lecturers.

The Department of Languages came into existence with the commencement of the Self- Financed stream of the college in the year 1998 and diverged from the Tamil Department on 1st October, 2014. Hindi and French are the two languages offered by the Department under Part I to all I year UG degree programmes and II B.A. & B.Sc degree programmes (Corporate Economics, Visual Communication & Psychology) students. The Department of Tamil (Shift-II) was started in 1998. The Tamil Department offers Tamil to all the first year UG students and second year B.A (Corporate Economics) and B.Sc (Visual Communication & Psychology) students under Part I. Under Part IV, NME courses are offered by the Department. From the year 2017 onwards Skill Based Courses (Tamil Soft Skill – Basic, Tamil Soft Skill – Advanced, Tourism in Tamil, Tourism and Tamil Culture, Folklore- I, Folklore- II) are offered for postgraduate students.
