| The Department of Visual Communication incorporates the latest trends in Communication. In the year 2000 the Department was started with a Broad range, enriching the individual student to flourish rapidly in the developing field of Media and Communication. Under Autonomy, the Department introduced new innovative need-based courses in the Curriculum such as Computer Graphics, Animation, Photography, Television Production, Public Relations, Advertising, Drawing and Art Work. Lab work is supplemented with field trips and study tours. Interactive Sessions with Experts in different fields of Communication enable the department to have links with industries. |

| Eligibility : |
| Candidates for admission to the First
year shall be required to have passed Higher Secondary Examination
Conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu, or an Examination
accepted as Equivalent (Academic or Vocational Stream). |

| Activities: |
- Individual Project in Television
Production (Documentary, Short Film, Public Service
Announcement, and Commercial.)
- On-the- job Training
during Summer Vacation in various Media Organisations
(Private TV Channels like SS Music, Sun TV, Vijay TV,
Advertising Agencies, Production Companies, Multimedia,
Special effects, Web Designing, Journalism and Print
Media).
- Various Guest lectures have been arranged to update
the students about the present trends in media
- To work on landscapes and portraits, photography
trips have been organized to Gingee Fort and
Aalamparai Fort.
- Trips organized to Mahabalipuram and Chennai Government
Museum to sketch Indian Traditional
Art, Sculptures, Rocks and Temples.
- The Department provides opportunity to the students
to visit various Exhibitions and participate in Seminars
and Workshops conducted by other Colleges.
- The Department works on projects to create awareness
on issues of social concern like Smoking, Drug Addiction,
Unemployment, Cleanliness, Health-Control, Safety on
Roads etc.,
