| The Department of Commerce was established in 1998, as the first undergraduate program in the self-financed section. Currently the department offers B.Com. Degree Program in two batches. For one the requirement is that the student should have done Mathematics in Higher Secondary and for the other Economics, with a combination of Accountancy and Commerce. |

| Under autonomy since 2005, the Department offers new courses enabling students to acquire advanced knowledge in accountancy, with a blend of management and communication skills. The department organizes career fairs and conducts certificate courses to expose students to multiple job opportunities suitable for their entrepreneurial and management abilities. |

| Activities: |
- Coaching classes for C.A. Course - PE I. for 300 hours.
- Certificate course in Accountancy (with Tally) for the students of the aided section of the college for 200 hours.
- Add-on courses for Personality Development and Soft Skills Enhancement in collaboration with external agencies.
- Career Fair for the final year students.
- Field Trips to Financial Institutions like RBI and other Manufacturing Organisations.
- “Cognizance” an intercollegiate intellectual fest is organised by the department every year along with the Department of Business Administration

- The Kanmani Christian Prize for securing the highest marks in Core and Allied Papers for a student from B.Com.(Mathematics) during the course of study.
- The Cognizance 2001 Award for securing the highest marks in Core and Allied Papers for a student from B.Com.(Non Mathematics) during the course of study.
- The Dr.Rita Jacob Cherian Prize awarded to a B.Com. student for her qualities of leadership and outstanding service to this college.
