| The Post Graduate
Department of Biotechnology was introduced in the Self-financed
Stream of Women’s Christian College in the year 2000.
Since 2005, the Department has been following the autonomous
system. From its inception, the Department has been imparting
high-level knowledge in various
spheres of Biotechnology apart from rendering value-based education.
The State of the Art Laboratories, Hi-tech
Educational Kits and need-based information are the highlights
of the Department. The Post Graduate students are trained meticulously
so as to have a full-fledged kaleidoscopic
knowledge in all areas of Biotechnology, which is a multifaceted
subject. From the Academic year 2005-2006, the Department
has introduced a job oriented
Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Medical
Laboratory Technology which caters to graduate students
with a Life Science background. |

to apply: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular
Biology, Genetics, Zoology, Botany, Nutrition, MBBS, BDS,
Agriculture, Bioinformatics and other subjects related to
Life Sciences. |

| Future Plans : |
- The Department of Biotechnology proposes to conduct a
Post Graduate Degree course in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- The Department also proposes to become a full-fledged
research unit by commencing Doctoral courses in the near
future. It also intends to have collaborated projects with
Research Funding Organizations.
- Diploma in Bioinformatics course is also the focus of
the Department as Bioinformatics forms an integral part
of the Biotech Genome.
