7th July 2006 Installation of Dr. Ridling Margaret Waller as the 12th Principal of WCC on the 91st year of the college. Dr. Mani Jacob, General Secretary, All India Association for Christian Higher Education (AIACHE), New Delhi presided.
10th & 11th August 2006 UGC sponsored Regional Seminar on “Herbal Medicine - The Changing Scenario” organised by the Department of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology
5th, 6th & 7th October 2006 The Annual College Play “Blood relations” of Sharon Pollock’s award winning play was directed by P. Rajani.
16th October 2006 Inauguration of Black Spot campaign by Smt. Letika Saran IPS, Commissioner of Police, Chennai (Former student of the Department of Mathematics - 1971).
23rd February 2007 His Excellency Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of India delivered the convocation address to the returning graduates (2006).
2nd April 2007 Dedication of Faculty Internet Access Centre by Dr. Rita Jacob Cherian, Former Principal (2003-2006) in the Information Resource Centre.
5th May 2007 Dedication of the new academic block as Dr. Renuka Mukerji Somasekar Block in memory of Late Dr. Renuka Mukerji Somasekhar, Former Principal (1956-1965 & 1971-1981).
August 2007 Commencement of two new Post Graduate programmes – M.A. Human Resource Management and M.Sc. Chemistry.
7th July 2007 A memorial service for late Dr. Renuka Mukerji Somasekhar and a thanksgiving service commemorating the 92nd year of the college was organized. Rt. Rev. Sundar Clarke, Former Bishop, Church of South India, Diocese of Madras delivered God’s message.
9th August 2007 Home Science block named as Mason Block in memory of Late Dr. Eleanor D. Mason, Former Principal (1950-1956) by Dr. Joanne V. Creighton, President, Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts, USA.
10th & 11th August 2007 Commemorating 25 years of autonomy an International Conference on “Reinventing Paradigms in Liberal Arts Education” was organized in Hotel GRT Grand Days. The conference was sponsored by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA) and United Church Board for World Ministries (UCBWM). The conference was inaugurated by Mr. David T. Hopper, Consul General of the United States of America and Dr. Patricia Stranahan, President, United Board for Christian Higher Education, New York. Ten resource persons from USA, Hong Kong, Manila, Indonesia and Chennai delivered Lead Lectures.

4th, 5th & 6th October 2007 The annual College play ‘In flight – a journey’ - An evocative mix of four short American plays, strung together by a single theme was directed by Yog Japee, a well known theatre and film personality.
16th October 2007 State level seminar on “Current Trends & Techniques in Biotechnology” organised by the PG Department of Biotechnology in collaboration with Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology.
The seminar was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. S. Ignacimuthu, Director of Entomology Research Institute, Loyola College & Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Madras and Dr. S. Vincent, Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology.
7th & 8th March 2008 National Conference on “Innovations in Higher Education – Quality Enhancement & Sustenance” sponsored by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was organized by Dr. Gomathy Shivaji, Coordinator for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), WCC.
Dr. K. Ponmudi, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, Govt. of Tamil Nadu delivered the Inaugural address. Prof. S. Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, University of Madras, Chennai delivered the Keynote address and Padma Bhushan Dr. V.C. Kulandai Swamy, Former Vice Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai delivered the Presidential address.
14th March 2008 Spring Sing by the College Choir – ‘a tradition revived’.
2nd April 2008 A Memorandum of Understanding with Hanze University, Netherlands was signed, to offer a collaborative program - one year Post Graduate Diploma in Facility Management.
24th April 2008 The new redesigned college gates were dedicated by Rev. Jebaraj Samuel, Former Principal, Hindustan Bible Institute and College,Kilpauk, Chennai. Between the gates is a pillar, 36 ft in height resembling a burning candle thus symbolising the college motto “Lighted to Lighten”.
26th April 2008 Shri P. Chidambaram, Honourable Union Finance Minister of India addressed the graduating students at the annual convocation.
13th June 2008 Ms. Ida Araya and Ms. Margaret Stewart, students from Eastern University, Philadelphia, USA registered on an exchange program for one semester.
7th July 2008 A Thanksgiving service to commemorate the 93rd year of our college. Rev. Dr. Mani Chacko, Director, Ecumenical Christian Centre, Bangalore lead the service.
July 2008 The University of Madras granted affiliation for M.Phil programme in Biotechnology.
24th July 2008 WCC hosts the awareness program on ‘Save the girl child’ orgnaised by the National Cadet Corps Directorate of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman Nicobar. Commodore UN Chitnavis, Nav Sena Medal presided.
24th July 2008 Inauguration of the UGC sponsored Career Oriented Programme on Management of e-Business by Shri Asit K Barma, Vice President, Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Coordinator of the program Ms. Suja, Lecturer in Economics shared the dynamics of the course.
29th, 30th August and 1st & 2nd September 2008 The Annual College Play 'Kattiyakaran', written by the well known playwright, N Muthuswamy was staged in English with a bilingual touch, to recall the flavour of the original Tamil script. The play was directed by N. S . Yamuna, a noted theatre personality in Chennai

National Conference on “Stem Cell Research – The Present and Future” partially funded by Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology was organized. Dr. Judia Harriet Sumathy was the convener of the conference.

Mr. Mayur Abhaya Srisrimal, Executive Director, Lifecell International Pvt. Ltd. delivered the Presidential address. Dr. S. Vincent, Member Secretary, TNSCST delivered the Keynote address.
