The Centenary Tree is a commemorative art installation, conceptualized & designed by an alumna, to celebrate a 100 years in the life of Women’s Christian College, from 1915 – 2015. This unique and original piece, commissioned by the College, will be created and installed by the same artist, Ms Sarita Deepak (Class of 1983).
The Centenary Tree will be housed for permanent display in the lobby of the new Centenary Block. The installation will stand seven feet tall, bearing a 100 year–specific leaves. These leaves in different shades of green will be crafted in stained-glass by an expert artist, Ms Padma Reddy (Class of 1980) who is also an alumna of WCC.
Three or more media will be incorporated in the making of this tree –

WHO CAN SPONSOR A LEAF
Any alumna or an individual, or a group (a maximum of 4 members for individual mention), a batch / class, a family, a department, a corporate, a stakeholder or any entity ( this last subject to the approval of the College).
A “Gratitude Board” bearing names of the sponsors will be incorporated into rosewood paneling around the Centenary Tree, employing discreetly etched lettering.
Sponsorship raised from the Centenary Tree will total up to Rs. 1 Crore & 42 Lakhs
