Native to India The plant yields an essential oil and is also used as a flavouring in tea. It is commonly cultivated as an ornamental in gardens for its strong pervading fragrance. Leaves contain antifertility principle.. Boiled juice of flowers is a stimulating beverage for treating vomiting, biliousness, blood diseases, heart and bladder disorders. Decoction of leaves is used in the treatment of cholera.
